We are ideally placed for those wanting to cycle, walk, paint or just 'chill-out'. Far enough off the beaten track to relax and experience a traditional Greek village but close enough to Acharavi (8km) for easy access to the beach, restaurants, bars, cafés and shops.

1km north from Acharavi is Rhoda and Kassiopi is only 20 minutes drive in the opposite direction. We are 34km from Corfu Town and 13km from Ipsos.

Directions to Episkepsi.

Drive out of the town of Corfu with the sea on your right, simply follow this road until you reach a large junction signed for Paleokastrítsa and Sidari straight on and take the right slip road to Dassia. Just follow this road, go through Dassia, along the sea front at Ipsos and Pyrgi, up the hill past the petrol station and there is a signpost for a left turn to Spartilas 4km and Episkepsi 13km. This road involves some serious hairpin bends, tight corners to be taken in first gear. Take it slowly there's bound to be someone hogging the road coming in the opposite direction.

There are some marvellous views (not for the driver!) as you climb up through the narrow streets of Spartilas, which is a large village. After about 1km there is a signpost for Petaleia 7km and Lafki 12km. Do not take this road as it takes you all the way to Strinalas. You will now notice that you have left the 'olive tree line'. The olive trees on Corfu grow from sea level up to about 350 meters above sea level. The landscape will start changing and become more rugged. Just carry on through Sgourades and Omali and you will reach the village of Episkepsi.

We are on the far side of the village so make your way through the again narrow main street. You will pass Nicos’ grillroom on the corner then Maria's taverna on your right with the post office immediately opposite. Proceed along here passing one of the village’s churches and when you reach the tight right bend you go over a small bridge. We are below here on the left. On your left is a green painted garage. You can park on the right here and you need to walk under the bridge - it's quite steep and watch your head. Tzoras House is the lemon-coloured house ahead which shares a gated courtyard with our neighbours.

The alternative is to go all the way on the coast road through Barbati, Nissaki, Kassiopi and Agios Spiridon to Acharavi. There are some tight bends but the road is wider in places but it's a long way round and will take you significantly longer to get here. This is the main coastal road; it can be very busy with slow moving commercial and holiday traffic with very few opportunities to over take.

In Acharavi opposite the coffee shop (Freddo's) and Dimitra supermarket there is a large sign for a left turn to Episkepsi 8km take that left turn and after a short distance there is a sharp very steep right turn signed for Episkepsi just keep going up. You will reach a confusing sign at Agios Panteleimonas, which says Corfu 33km; Agios Martinos 5km and Acharavi 4km bear right up the mountainside. Just before the village (you can just about make out the sign but it's in Greek) there are forks to both the right and left ignore them and go straight on into the village, passed the cemetery on your left. Continue a short way along here and you can park in the area on the left opposite a green garage, which is on your right and the walk under the bridge - it's quite steep and watch your head. Tzoras House is the lemon-coloured house ahead which shares a gated courtyard with our neighbours.
